What. Was. That?!
I took a poll to see whether people would rather have me do a re-enactment of two John Hughes classics OR do an 8 hour long improvised monologue based on audience suggestions for my end-of-the-year appeal. It was a tie so I’m combined the two. I live streamed John Hughes Deconstructed on my justin.tv channel on 12/19/12.
In celebration of the glorious genius of John Hughes I did a live stream marathon re-interpretation/ re-enactment/ mashup/ philosophical breakdown of his spot on collection on 12/19/12 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM EST. It was pretty incredible. Some people watched the entire 6 hour marathon. Holy crap!
I waxed poetic about The Breakfast Club, examined the strange effect Jake from Sixteen Candles still has on women and smiled like a pig in shit about Ferris Bueller. John Hughes had a tremendous effect on Generation X and his overarching influence on our weird ass culture was felt and continues to endure.
Why did I do this? It’s my year-end appeal, a last ditch effort to raise as much money as I possibly can for my ongoing creative projects. Every cent you give me is tax-deductible. You can Donate NOW!! My goal was to raise $2500 in 6 hours. I ended up raising $520. However you can still donate anytime and get a tax deduction.
Thanks to everyone who watched and participated. I look forward to doing more wacky live stuff like this.
